Fort Lauderdale Executive Airport was identified in a U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA) study as potentially generating lead emissions from aircraft with piston engines that operate at the Airport.

The City of Fort Lauderdale's Resolution 24-128 establishes a plan to reduce lead emissions at FXE, directing the City Manager to implement a Program encouraging and incentivizing the sale and use of unleaded aviation fuel.
