Airfield Lighting Rehabilitation Project begins April 17th, 2017 at 10:00 PM
Survey work for the Airfield Lighting Rehabilitation Project will begin tonight, April 17th, 2017 at 2200L. Pilots and operators can expect Nightly closures (from 2200L to 0600L) of Runway 13-31 and portions on Taxiway Golf from April 17 - 22, 2017, with other closures to follow.
This Airfield Lighting Rehabilitation Project will consist of inspecting and rehabilitating the lighting on sections of Taxiway Golf, Runway 9-27 and Runway 13-31. The project will replace the Precision Approach Path Indicator (PAPI) units for each runway end, along with installing new Runway End Identifier Lights (REILs) at Runway 13, 27, and 31 thresholds. The Airfield Beacon and two supplemental wind cones will also be replaced during the course of this project.
Construction will follow the field inspections and is expected to begin May 15, 2017 and continue nightly until September 30th, 2017.
Pilots and operators can expect Nightly closures (from 2200L to 0600L) of Runways and Taxiways throughout the project to accommodate the construction crews. During the closure periods, at least one Runway will be available for arrivals and departures – Circumstances may require a Prior Permission Request (PPR) before the aircraft may use the Runway.
Pilots are encouraged to check all NOTAMS daily and plan accordingly.
